Aldo's therapy advisors recommended his parents that they should leave him more time alone. "That was just insane. They just wanted us to treat him like a vegetable," the family diSorbo complains. "He was our only child, of course we wanted to spoil him and spend more time together"
Seeing a stranger every day for therapy and sitting most of the time alone, Aldo began developing an interest towards television and French movies. "My husband knew a bit French and one time he said in French 'Thank you for this lovely dinner'; to our greatest surprise, Aldo replied. In French!"
After this incident, his parents considered exposing Aldo to different languages, like Spanish and Russian. They saw that he learned very rapidly when he watched movies in that language.
"It was simply amazing. I've never seen a child to know so much in so little time. He even had a broader vocabulary than I had" his language teacher said about young Aldo.
